We didn’t want this to feel like a diet book. These are everyday recipes we actually make, with the reasons behind the small changes we’ve made to them. That might mean using leaner burgers, lighter mayo or cream cheese, or a flatbread instead of a higher-calorie pizza base. Simple tweaks that help us reach our fitness goals while still cooking and eating the food we enjoy all year round.
The fitness industry loves making food complicated. Nutrient timing windows. Six-meal-a-day schedules. Nearly every food in the supermarket has been shouted at by at least one fearmongering influencer.
No wonder people fall off. The food is boring, annoying to make, or both.
Not recipes I tested once and photographed for the cover. Not stuff I invented for a content shoot. These are the meals me and Daisy genuinely cook, week in, week out, through cuts, bulks, busy weeks, and the nights where we were barely functioning.
They came from us trying to hit our macronutrient targets without going completely insane.
They’re high protein. They fill you up properly. They taste good enough that you (hopefully) want to eat them again.
You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.
Real meals from our actual week, not a test kitchen.
Day one to year one, 2021 to 2022. I wanted a way to stay lean year-round that I could actually sustain, not another twelve-week challenge. These are the recipes and principles I used to get there, and the ones I’ve stuck to since.
High-protein pancakes, oats, eggs, smoothies, and quick starts that don’t require a 5am personality transplant.
Burgers, bowls, pastas, curries, wraps, and proper dinners that still fit your goals.
Fast, filling, actually useful. For when you need protein without pretending another dry bar is a treat.
A simple guide to adjusting portions, calories, and protein so the recipes work whether you’re cutting, bulking, or maintaining.
